COVID-19 has changed how we are looking at youth sports. With the uncertainty of the upcoming months we will be holding end of Summer Elite Skills Training Camps. Our coaches are eager to prepare all volleyball athletes for the competitive seasons that will exist in our future.
With the recent announcements of the CIF and NCVA. City Beach will opening a series of 3 week camps starting August 3rd. These camps will follow all of our safety protocols, and will be focused on players seeking competitive training and play as guidelines evolve. These camps will allow us to train players for any upcoming season that will take place and allow us to form consistent 12 player pods for the safety of all involved as we aim to train players for their school season and form teams for our upcoming club season in whatever form it may take.
Registration will be available by the end of the week.
Ongoing 3 week camps will allow us to:
- Offer consistent times and space
- Maintain our safety protocols including, hand sanitation stations, temperature checks, consistent 12 player pods on individual courts, disinfected balls and equipment
- Adjust protocols if we are able to expand into competitive play if the guidelines allow or to draw back if deemed necessary by the county or state.
- Work with our experienced and eager coaches at all age levels with the same high level of training City Beach coaches are known for.
At all levels, regardless of the amount of playing time, each player receives the same quality instruction from coaches who care about their development and foster a positive and sportsmanlike environment. We have a volleyball training and management structure in place that helps coaches collaborate and ensures that each player is being provided the highest quality of coaching. We strive to teach players how to learn, apply themselves fully, develop habits that will make them successful, and how to play the game of volleyball. Official practices for National and Regional teams begin in December while our Area and Youth League (“Rec”) teams start after the holidays in January.
Our volleyball teams compete in the tournaments run by the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA) and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). We offer National teams that will travel to National Qualifiers and play in the NCVA power league. We have Area teams and Youth League teams that do not require much travel and play in the AAU Pacific, Youth League, and local tournaments. We also offer a Regional team which plays only in large, monthly tournaments offered by the NCVA (Kick Off, Presidents Day, etc…)and has one traveling tournament to the Far Westerns (Reno) National Qualifier. Invitational (White) teams play both Power League and Premier League Teams at these events.
