For team training we will adhere to guidance of limited cohorts and pods to limit the number of people athletes interact with on a regular basis.
- Maintain our safety protocols including, hand sanitation stations, temperature checks, stable cohorts of no more than 14 player on individual courts, disinfected balls and equipment.
- Adjust protocols if we are able to expand into competitive play if the guidelines allow or to draw back if deemed necessary by the county or state.
- Work with our experienced and eager coaches at all age levels with the same high level of training City Beach coaches are known for.
At all levels, regardless of the amount of playing time, each player receives the same quality instruction from coaches who care about their development and foster a positive and sportsmanlike environment. We have a volleyball training and management structure in place that helps coaches collaborate and ensures that each player is being provided the highest quality of coaching. We strive to teach players how to learn, apply themselves fully, develop habits that will make them successful, and how to play the game of volleyball. For a further description of the types of volleyball teams we have, scroll down. Tryouts and sign ups begin in November. Official practices for National and Regional teams begin in December while our Area and Youth League (“Rec”) teams start after the holidays in January.
Our volleyball teams compete in the tournaments run by the WCVBA (West Coast Volleyball Association), the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA) and Amateur Athletic Union (AAU). We offer National teams that will travel to National Qualifiers and play in the WCVBA. We have Area teams and Youth League teams that do not require much travel and play in the AAU Pacific, Youth League, and local tournaments. We also offer a Regional team which plays only in large, monthly tournaments offered by the NCVA (Kick Off, Presidents Day, etc…)and has one traveling tournament to the Far Westerns (Reno) National Qualifier. Invitational (White) teams play both Power League and Premier League Teams at these events.
